Vineyards at Oakover Estate were initially established in the 1850’s. This pioneering Swan Valley location saw Samuel Moore plant his first grapes in this ribbon grants parcel, because of its unique soil and climate, riverside. Moore knew these factors meant it should become one of the best Swan Valley wineries.
Today Oakover Wines reflect a synergy between this heritage and the present. Mark Yukich and sons Graeme and Kim have continued the proud family tradition of growing quality grapes and producing premium wines reflecting the ‘terrior’ of the region.

General Manager Wine / Chief Winemaker
Damian Hutton is a Chief Winemaker who comes to the Oakover Estate from the Margaret River region, where he finessed his talents with prominent Australian producers for over 18 years. Damian is passionate about the Perth Hills and Swan Valley wine region and holds a strong belief in the grow-it-yourself philosophy, which is at the heart of all the Oakover teams deliver.
The move to Oakover Grounds in August 2020, was a major coup given Damian’s wines have won more than 50 trophies at national and regional wine shows.
Damian is now establishing a premium brand while contributing to the Swan Valley becoming a major wine, food and tourism destination.
Matty’s first exposure to the world of wine occurred while working in retail liquor in the early 90s. The spark was lit when he was sent off by his employer to do the Wines of WA wine appreciation course.
The production of wine grapes became an area of great interest, particularly due to his farming background. To pursue his passion for this versatile fruit, Matty relocated to Margaret River in 1997 to study Viticulture via distance education at Charles Sturt University.
Working in Margaret River, Frankland River and in the wine regions surrounding Adelaide, he has been exposed to a variety of production systems and wine styles. His strong interest in sustainability and alternative varieties of wine make him a valuable addition to our team.
A range of wines are available for sale at our wine tasting counter overlooking the grounds and the lake.
These include the Clockwork range, Nicholas Signature Range and Ministry of Leisure range. Clockwork may be known by international travellers visiting Perth.
The Nicholas Signature range is a short run premium range that celebrated our heritage. The Ministry of Leisure range was developed as a light and fun, affordable range at a price point.
Wine and Cheese Tastings
Indulge your love of wine and food and book your Wine Tasting adventure with Oakover Grounds. Cheese tastings are also available and include a range of local and international gourmet artisan cheeses.
Group Wine Tastings take place at our Wine Tasting Counter AND need to be pre-booked. Group tastings include seven Oakover Wines and take approximately 45 minutes. Groups up to around 50 guests are welcome.Wine Tastings are also a great addition to any Corporate Day event at Oakover Grounds.
